Dear Parents,
It was brought to my attention today, that there are some concerns regarding the cost involved with cheerleading at WLB. I wanted to address these concerns by clarifying how I came up with the prices that I did for each item. Please contact me if you still have questions regarding the pricing list. Items being ordered come from 3 different catalogs (2 are from companies that are associated with each other). However, only the Varsity/Cheerleader DanzTeam rep comes to the school to size the girls. Remember that the prices that I sent home were estimates…I typically round up to the nearest dollar when giving estimates (but only charge what the company charges).
Varsity Catalog (http://uniforms.varsity.com/VSFCatalog.aspx)
· MotionFLEX Midriff Bodyliner -- Royal Blue -- (Item # MFBLR or MFBLRY) -- page 214 -- $32.95
· Solid Fleece Lined Warm-up Package -- Royal Blue -- (Item # PM040PKG) -- page 196 -- $105.00
· "WLB" lettering for the Jacket -- Kelly Green -- (Item # MNBO-1) -- page 227 -- $7.75 (3 letters in 1 color)
· "Cheer" lettering for the Jacket -- White -- (Item # MNBWP-1) -- page 226 -- $7.25
Total for Warm-up (pkg + WLB + Cheer) = 120.00
I usually state $125 for the warm up package because in the past there have been changes with this item that has actually made it cost more. I do believe that I have this problem worked out and the $120 should be the price.

*Jackets and pants can be purchased separately if there is a need to only purchase one or the other (An example of this situation would be that a returning cheerleader has out grown her pants, but the jacket still fits.) However, it is cheaper to purchase the package.
· Solid Fleece Lined Hooded Jacket -- Royal Blue -- (Item # PM-040S) -- page 196 -- $67.95
· "WLB" lettering for the Jacket -- Kelly Green -- (Item # MNBO-1) -- page 227 -- $7.75 (3 letters in 1 color)
· "Cheer" lettering for the Jacket -- White -- (Item # MNBWP-1) -- page 226 -- $7.25
Total for Jacket (jacket + WLB + Cheer) = $82.95
· Lined Warm-up Pants -- Royal Blue -- (Item # PMP-035) -- page 226 -- $52.95
I have 2 pair of shoes picked out. The ones that we get will depend on the sizes that are needed for the squad when we order in August.
· Asics Leather Classic -- White -- (SLTL) -- page 209 -- $47.00 (This is my first choice for shoes)
· Converse Chant -- White – (C09C or C09CY) -- page 208 -- $55.00 (women's) or $50.00 (Youth) – I think that Varsity will price match these shoes from another company. Therefore they would probably be cheaper ($39.99 for Women's and $32.99 for Youth).
Cheerleader Danzteam Catalog (http://uniforms.varsity.com/catalogCheerleaderAndDanzTeam.aspx)
· CDT Unifit -- Royal Blue with Kelly and White -- (Item # UR-0834CV) -- page 36 -- $59.95
Team Cheer Catalog (http://www.teamcheer.com/onlinecatalog.asp?pg=26)
· Sublimated Boy Cut Brief -- Royal Blue with Kelly Polka Dots -- (Item # BWCW104 or BWCW105) -- page 26 -- $18.99
· Sublimated Boy Cut Brief -- Royal Blue with White Paw Prints -- (Item # BWCW104 or BWCW105) -- page 26 -- $18.99 – This is different from what was quoted prior to tryouts. I changed to these because this year's squad seemed to like the boy cut better but still liked having the paw prints on their briefs. Therefore, this was the best of both worlds. The brief with tackle twill paw prints on the back were $18 from Varsity).
Team T-shirt (estimated at $20 based on prices paid in 2008 for team shirts) -- The team shirt is something that the girls can wear under their warm-up jackets on game day or by itself with a pair of blue jeans. This shirt is special to the girls that are on the squad. The design is unique to the cheerleading squad and typically says something along the lines of WLB Cheerleading, Wolverine Cheerleader etc. The names of the squad members are also included on the back of the t-shirt with the year.
Cheer Hair (for competition) -- I have yet to decide if we will be using the cheer hair this year, so this is not a definite expense. However, here is the information for that item.
Cheerleader Hairpieces (http://cheerleaderhairpieces.biz/teen_spiral_curls)
· Teen Style -- Spiral Curls -- $17.99
· Youth Style -- Spiral Curls -- $17.99
I would let you know if you need teen or youth style curls. The $25.00 that was quoted prior to tryouts included the shipping and handling costs. That price can go up or down depending on how much you want to spend on shipping.
I want to apologize for any confusion regarding the prices that were quoted at tryouts. I have always made sure to get as close to the correct costs as possible prior to tryouts so that everyone understands what is involved in being on the cheerleading squad. That is also why I include this on the permission slip to tryout for cheerleading. I want to make sure that everyone understands what it will cost and can make an educated decision about trying out prior to tryouts. I don't like to have surprises sprung on me; so I try not to spring surprises on you. This is also why I offer fundraising opportunities. Remember that we are currently selling Little Caesars and this profit (with the exception of the first 6) will go straight to you to offset these costs. The profit from the first 6 will be used to help purchase green uniforms (if we need them). If we don't need the new green uniforms, that profit will go right back to you. LC offers $5 per item sold. It is a good fundraiser and typically easy to sell. I hope that this clarifies your questions and concerns. Please contact me with further questions.
Mrs. Lile
